DETERMINATION OF DEVELOPMENTAL COORDINATION DISORDER LEVELS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Background and Objective: Developmental coordination disorder (DCD) is a common neurodevelopmental disorder, affecting 5-6% of children youth. Few studies examined the prevalence rate DCD in variety countries; however, there no published study on Turkish children. This therefore aimed to determine among school-aged Turkey. Methods: A cross-sectional comparative design was adopted this study. The criteria Diagnostic Statistical Manual Mental Disorders (5 th edition) were used diagnose with DCD. Participants 856 aged 6-9 years including 439 girls (51.17%) 417 boys (48.83%) their parents. Assessments conducted using Coordination Disorder Questionnaire 2007 (DCDQ'07) Movement Assessment Battery for Children-2 (MABC-2). Results: found be 8.53% 6 9 years. ranged between 7.25% 10.05% 6- 9-year age groups. range 7.62% 15.09% 4.90% 8.74% girl boy children, respectively. Despite some not significant differences, similar across gender. Conclusion: Regardless gender, relatively high Implementation diagnostic intervention strategies primary schools strongly recommended.
